Hello World!

Okay okay! This is my FIRST official blog post on this new adventure in internet-ing/social-media sharing and needless to say, I’m HYPED!

Not only am I excited to be sharing some content, but I’m so excited you’re here to enjoy it. I’ve got a unique little corner of the globe and I’m ready to connect with people who want to partake in the weirdness. Who are you? You’re probably a human who likes animals and is interested in how someone can participate in the “homestead” lifestyle but still be front and center to the realities of urban living. Or you wandered in unknowingly into the most random corner of the internet and are unprepared for the journey you’re about to indulge in. Or you’re my mom (Hi, Mom!).

My little family is located in the heart and center of Loveland, Colorado. We have been raising urban chickens since 2013, and got our first colony of honeybees in 2019. We dove headfirst with each new leap and have finessed the backyard-bird know-how and honeybee how-to since then! Our unwritten life rule is that we don’t take things too seriously, especially ourselves, and that has allowed us the freedom to appreciate the little things and quirks that come along with living a slightly abnormal life in a “normal” setting. We are fake-it-till-you-make-it champions and we pride ourselves on our ability to learn as much as we can to provide the healthiest, happiest life for little homestead. While the fruits of our labor (eggs, honey, garden harvest) are the icing on the cake, we truly enjoy the DOING and learning of this life, and are so excited to share our knowledge and adventures with you!
